Airaid Jr problems

So a few weeks ago I installed a airaid Jr with filter in factory air box. I unhooked ground to reset computer. since I did install I notice a rough idle and lower gas mileage. So my question is this normal or is something wrong. I made sure hose clamps where tight and everything was clean before installing so no dust would get sucked in throttle body.

Ive never understood why people unhook the ground when doing these minor mods. Its not needed as the ECU will learn pretty fast. Anyways, you reset the ECU so the truck has no idea how to act. It'll probably take it a little while to relearn everything and smooth out. I installed my airair jr kit and never removed the ground and have never had any issues. Double check all your connections too.

I also had a jr intake and did not disconnect and cables, as weeks passed I had noticed the idle was more rough, which I wasn't too worried about because I had a noticed stock it idled weird already. Well one day I went to work and my truck died on me and could barley stay on. I had it towed to the dealer ship and was told I ruin my front o2 and one cat with the intake.

I expected this response because I didn't have time to swap back my stock air tube but wish I did so I would know the true nature of the system failure. : )

That is pure BS, more so since GM offers their own cold air intakes now and they state no tuning changes are required. So unless you messed up something on the install the deal is taking a wild ass guess and trying t place the blame on you.

I removed the battery when i installed mine a few days ago as the instructions stated in large bold font (lol). I also have a slight vibration at idle but its smoothing out. MPG's are going back up too. I'm around 75 miles on it now.
