Changing from a 2005 4.8 to a 2001 5.3

The 2005 4.8 I have now has been sounding like it has been chewing marbles for quite a few thousand miles and seems to get worse by the day. So I found a 5.3 for a heck of a steal ($75). My truck is an '05 4.8 and the 5.3 is from an '01 Tahoe. I understand that the intakes are different because of the switch from a cable operated throttle body to an electronic throttle body. My question is can I swap my 2005 4.8 intake to the 2001 5.3 motor or should I look for a 2005+ 5.3 intake? I'm not looking to out perform anyone just to have a truck that isn't eventually going to let me stranded. I'm sure there is an existing post on this topic but I'm not exactly the most computer literate person out there so please post links if available. Thank you in advance.

Yiu can swap the long block, but with the year difference, your 4.8 had the same or more power than the 01 5.3

Supposedly he took it out for someone and they left it there and he just wanted it out of his way. We will see once I get it running. From what I can see everything looks good.

He says he drove it there and everything was good. The owner was saying it felt sluggish but when he pulled the plugs out every one was gapped different. Some burning lean some burning rich. The owner had already bought a crate motor and told him to change it anyway.
