factory alarm

i am putting a alarm on my truck and i was wondering if i could hook a aftermarket alarm up to my factory keyless entry. i would think it would make thangs a hole lot easier. so if anybody knows where the factory alarm is located please write back.

The factory alarm is not a seperate unit, but instead a program running inside the BCM.

Since everything is connected to the BCM, it was just as easy for GM to add the factory alarm functions to it simply by programming it in.

 

You could hook an aftermarket alarm to it, but it would be much easier to use a GM Accessories VSC3400 which is pretty much a DEI alarm with wire harness adapters that plugs into the BCM.  DEI is the company that makes Python, Sidewinder, and Viper alarms as well as all alarms branded "GM Accessories".
