Well took my truck to the bodyshop today

$258 to repair the dent and scratches.  They have to remove the bumper and fender flare.  They are only painting from the crease (under the z71 sticker) down.  Not a bad price.  Also they will have my truck for a day and a half.  Probably take it in thursday

My dad took my moms into the chevy dealer they want $409  :0

They found a dent we didnt see and the bumper needs to be painted.  I am taking it to the place i took my truck tomorrow.  Hopefully they can paint the bumper and do paintless dent removal under the tail light unlike the chevy dealer they were gonna pound it out and paint  :0

Oh well itll be fixed soon!

Well that is not to expensive to get your truck fixed.  Hopefully you can get you mom blazer fixed cheaper too.  I am guessing your Dad will be paying for getting it fixed??  Glad to hear your truck will be back to normal soon

Ryan that price isn't bad at all.  Be sure to take some more before and after pics.  Is your mom's blazer going to get done at the dealership or are you taking it in for an estimate where your getting your truck fixed?

im taking hers to where i took mine (local bodyshop).  He fixed my tailgate and even gave me a little discount which i thought was nice.

Also he owns a newer gmc Z71 so he will take care of my truck

Ouch, well, it's not too bad.  One of the plumbers here took in his work truck to get fixed.  While at a jobsite some kids decided to use the side of it as part of a skateboard ramp, there's a ton of big dents all over it.  What kind of kids are these?!?!?!?!?!? This is a one ton Chevy van they desecrated, I could see if it was a ford.

But, sorry to hear about it, glad you don't have to take those a holes to court who malicously rammed into the side of your truck  (If Ryan's parents are reading this, it was a joke, don't come after my truck too)

second estimate $365.50

Guess it costs alot to paint plastic.  That flex stuff sucks

Mines going in thursday morning early   No truck till froday or saturday :P

Two weeks after I bought my '02 Tahoe Z71, some a**holes hit me with an egg while driving some friends to dinner.  When we got home, we washed it off as well as we could in the dark, but in the morning saw the damage - a white spot about the size of a baseball where the egg hit and etched the paint.

Cost to repair - $700!

Damn I guess I'm lucky then, nothing like that with my Blazer, and I've had it over 3 months, almost 4 now.  Ryan what part of the Blazer needs the repaint, is it that little plastic piece on the bottom behind the rear wheel?  Also is her bumper getting a complete repaint?

    • You're better read than that Atlas. 😏   British science fiction writer Arthur C. Clarke formulated three adages that are known as Clarke's three laws, of which the third law – that "any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic" – is the best known and most widely cited.   Stribeck and the pivotable Hersey Number isn't voodoo nor snake oil. That part is physics. It's what marketing and bean counters do with it that is snake oil and voodoo.    Stribeck is the relationship between Hersey and the Coefficient of Friction. Within the Hersey Equation if viscosity and viscosity is 'Dependent' on.......heat.......and.......viscosity index or the temperature to viscosity slope.    Specifically Hersey is the viscosity AT THE TEMPERATURE IN THAT LOCATION FOR THAT SLOPE.   Hydrodynamic lubrication exist when the film thickness in the location is 3X the Ra roughness of the surface. This is irrespective of the hardness of the substrate. To obtain that thickness X viscosity is required for Y velocity at Z load. That's a lot of moving parts. It is also impossible to maintain in an ICE but nearly possible with a turbine under constant load.    What does that mean? Error heavy and operate light. Wear is inevitable but the rate of wear and the milage obtainable are a function of prevailing conditions and HABITS. The only penalty is viscous drag and at fractions so low as to be well worth the effort. Double the life, half the manufacturing carbon foot print. Greed is the only impediment.    The materials generated by SwRI are the RESULT not an estimation or a hypothesis.    Don't delude yourself sir, EV's have as many pitfalls as ICE's. We just don't know what they are yet and it will take longer to sort as MARKETING and GREEDY CEO's have had more time to polish the turd they are selling.
    • You can always count on greed to prey on ignorance and stupidity.    Friend bought a 2019 Ford Flex and asked me about using Valvoline R&P 5W30 in it. Told him give the miles on it and the fact it wasn't yet using oil that it was a good plan. He uses a Valvoline quick change shop for his oil service.   First they tell him that isn't the oil the OEM recommends. He told them he didn't care what the OEM thought. Then they floated the, "But it will void your warranty"    His reply was it's a 2019, there is no warranty and informed them their knowledge of the law was lacking.    Then they tell him 'But it will ruin your motor"!.    Mine to ruin he says. Finally they give in and charge him 150% the semi-syn price    Point it the brainwash is so embedded that even the service industry is drunk on their swill. The public is right behind them. Echoing the same lies on every forum and media platform. If the end goal is indeed EV then I'd say that ship is about built.
    • Diesel hit $6.00 here today at the truck stop.   Payed $2.79 for E85 today too.
