Newbie member, question about HID headlights

Hey guys new to the forum, just bought a 2014 Silverado Texas edition LTZ 4wd. It's white diamond tricoat with a 7.5" RC lift with some 20" fuel mavericks wrapped around some 35s. I love the truck but I'm already thinking I want to do HIDs on the headlights and fogs. I'm completely clueless when it comes to lights and electrical stuff so I need some guidance as to what all I need to buy to make the switch. All I know is I don't like the stock yellowish look that the projectors output I want the lights to be more white than blue since I'm more than likely gonna end up putting an LED bar on it later and want all my lights to match.

I put 35w and 55w 6,000k HID's in my highs and lows, and then for my fog lights I bought the off brand rigid D2 cubes and put those in, as well as 2 30" light bars behind my grille. I have a 15 high country, so if people say you can't put in the D2's in your fog lights, they're lying. I have proof lol. Message me if you want a detailed write up on the whole process and I'll hook you up

You have pretty much the setup I'm shooting for I don't really wanna drill into my roof for a 52 inch light bar. I'll definitely msg you as soon as I figure out how to do it lol

With a lifted truck, do yourself and everyone else a favor and do a retrofit. Just adding HIDS in a factory halogen housing will throw up some unwanted glare at oncoming traffic. At stock height, you can get away with just aiming your headlights down. You'll have a clean cut off with projectors that won't blind everyone and keep all that useful light on the road.

I'm looking at doing almost the same thing, but I'm more than oblivious when it comes to the lights. I have a 2015 Sierra SLE and I was going to pick up some 35w 4500K Morimoto's but what you're saying is I should go out and grab a projector while I'm at it? If that's the case could you point me in the right direction?

I just put 55w 5k HIDs in my stock ltz projector housings and XML2 LED bulbs in my factory fog light housings. They're plenty bright for all the driving I do and I've already been flashed by a couple cars. I'm sure I need to adjust them down some cause of my lift. Overall they're plenty bright for me I don't think I'll end up doing the retrofit, I'll post some pictures of them when I get to my laptop.

If you already have a Sierra, then you have the projectors already. You can just add a plug and play HID kit and have decent output. You can upgrade your projectors to something better than the OEM one.

Here's the stock projector and an FXR projector. Night and day difference. Theretrofitsource.com will have everything you need.

I went and ordered the Sierra Kit from TRS and its on its way, but now that I did that I wish I would have waited. I'd like the FXR Projector too and I see theres an adaptor kit out as well. But I guess theres some extra things you need to buy with the FXR for the conversion as well as some parts in the original kit that become obsolete. Im Looking around for what those are now.

I had bought the TRS 2014 Sierra Bi-Xenon FX-R Stage III Kit a while back but never installed. Instead choose to go LED recently and really like it.

If anyone is interested in this kit (never opened), let me know.

Kit has 9006 HD Relay; Capacitor Link; FX-R 3.0 (2.5" Lens/LHD) D2S Morimoto 3Five DSP; 35W D2S 3Five 5,000K lights; & white 80mm LED Rings.

I already bought a set from xenonhids.com 55W 5K low beams and high beams and LED fog lights. I had a set from them on my previous car and both of sets are pretty good quality but I'm sure TRS's kit is good as well. If I keep getting flashed at night I might consider doing an fxr retrofit in the future though.
