97 5.7 2500: What supercharger?

I'm looking for more power for towing.  If you've installed a supercharger on a small block chevy, please respond!

 

What have you used?

How do you like it?

What was the cost?

You might have better luck posting this in the High Performance section. But if you want my biased opinion, you should be looking at Magnacharger (intercooled roots) or Whipple (twin screw). Eaton is an OEM and Magnacharger is it's "retail" division.

 

I would stay away from centrifugals (powerdyne, vortec) for towing, as they produce their power at higher RPMs than the

Magnacharger and Whipple. Centrifugals are supposed to be superior for drag racing, though.

 

I have the Magnacharger Radix on my Silverado SS and love the low end punch it gives. I have yet to tow anything with it. My before and after quarter mile times indicate a 38% increase in HP. You numbers may be better since the SS has a high compression engine that is not as well suited to supercharging as the regular Silverado engines are.

I've researched this(for the 350, 5.7), I could go with the ProCharger. It is self conatined, self oiled, and comes with an intercooler. It boost power more than the other's too, for about the same price.

 

oh yeah, 50%/50% gain and I'm pretty sure they guarantee it. If you get before/after dyno's that don't say that I'm pretty sure they will either refund your money, OR buy it back from you, your choice. ORder their literature, too , you'll be impressed.
