Air Conditioning problems. Brand new truck!

I love my trucfk, but:

I have an appointment with my dealer to bring in my 03 1500HD LT, with the auto climate AC.

My problem is intermittent. Today for example, it was 86 F outside. With AC in either AUTO or MANUAL mode, it was blowing warm air (and yes the compressor was not turned off!). RECIRC mode made no difference.

It did this for about 15 minutes. Then all of a sudden it is blowing very cold air in both modes.

I have found that if I turn off the engine, and turn it back on, it will blow cold air again.

I talked with the servie people who said that it could be 1. low refrigerant, 2. Bad pressure switch, or 3. Bad connection.

The bummer is that Chevy do not give loaner trucks or cars while fixing yours under warranty. This is one of the reasons I dumped Ford.

Anyway, will update if I get a fix.

one of the few defects that came on my 2500HD was the airconditioning. Third day I owned it I took it back for no cold air. They replaced a hose that was installed poorley at the factory and recharged the system. It has worked fine ever since. By the way my dealer does give loaners, He uses Enterprise rentals.

Can't help you on your problem, but I've got my truck in for some warranty work, and the dealer gave me a loaner as well. A piece of crap Toyota Carola, but a free loaner non the less.

Yea I'm driving an 03 company truck and it's going into the shop for the second time for the A/C.I also had to bring big red in for it once.....The problem is coming from a pressure switch on the round silver thingy(evaporator) just outside the firewall on the passenger side under the hood.You can unplug it and jump it out for temporary relief on hot days..lol
