Tuffy Security Console Vault

When I got my truck a few weeks back, I was expecting I'd have to buy a Truck Vault or similar insert for the center console for $250-300. A little help from Google let me find this for $149. I ended up buying it from one of their dealers who offers a .mil/LEO discount, and I upgraded to the combo lock.

Overall, I'm happy with the product. It was around 15 minutes to install, and the hardest part was removing the file folder hangars to install the insert. Instead of a box that bolts in, it's a frame that bolts in with a vault-style top.

 

The design left some space where the storage box in the front was removed, and if something falls in there you'll need to get a magnet or grabber to get it out. I picked up a neoprene sleeve for the owner's manual and insurance paperwork to fit in there. Also, the rubber mat for the bottom of the console doesn't fit.

 

I would also like to see a biometric lock option, but the combo lock is good quality.

Looks nice. I thought about getting one as well but the other brands were too expensive.

I was hoping it might help someone out.

 

I didn't want the bench seat even though it had the locking storage underneath the middle. This works much better for my needs.
