Stock Height of 1986 GMC K1500

Hello, I'm trying to figure out how much lift the front of my truck has. It has 2" blocks in the rear and sits pretty level so I'm assuming 3-4" in the front. I was thinking that an easy way to determine the lift would be to measure the ground to fender distance and compare it to a stock value. Mine is sitting at 40-5/8" (front fender to ground). Is that the best way to go about it? If so, does anyone know what that stock value is? I'm trying to figure this out because I need to change out the shocks and want to make sure I get the right size. Any help/insight is appreciated.

Thanks!
