2 Weeks in Review

So I've had my truck for 2 weeks. 1500km in that time. So far the truck gets awesome mileage (13.5l/100km or 17.4 mpg). My old '09 with the 5.3 was consistently 12-13 mpg. I know I don't have a ladder rack or the 2" level with BFG's on this truck yet, but I'm impressed with the mileage so far. The power from the 6.2 is nice and there is not that annoying throttle delay as there was with the '09. It's nice to have a crew cab and decent size box as well. The tranny shifts smoothly; no drive train clunks or other noises. Really the only thing I'm not happy with is the drivers seat. Who the hell designed this thing? Today is probably the first day where my lower back is not killing me-hopefully I finally have it adjusted close to where it needs to be. I've spent a fair amount of time trying to get comfortable in this seat and have never suffered from back pain before. The alignment also seems off as the truck does want to wander right, but that can wait until the first oil change. Overall, I'm pretty pleased with this one.

I also never had lower back pain from a seat in a vehicle until I got my 2015 Sierra. I found that having the lumbar support fully extended was the only cure and I have never used the lumbar support in any of my previous vehicle. Thanks for the info on the 6.2. I am picking mine up on Friday.

I wonder if the new conversion van seats bolt in that would be amazing

The 6.2 is a nice power plant, I am on my second one and just as impressed with it this time as I was on the first truck.

Yup, it has some balls. The first 800km or so I took it fairly easy, but since then I've been driving it normally. Mileage is still the same. Due to the slight pain in my back, I guess the seat still isn't right. I'll try the lumbar tomorrow, though I will check at the dealer to see if other '16s have this hard spot in the seat level with the lower back. Reminds me of sleeping on a hide-a-bed with that damn bar running under the mattress.

Congrats, I beat the heck out of it off the lot, had 3 miles! now I take it easy and no highway driving, had mine 2 months only has 180 miles. she's a garage queen. 6.2 w/8spd is just awesome. My seats are a bit stiff as well it will loosen up like my 2013 did.

I plan to change my oil at 500 miles, lots of metal shavings will be in the oil and filter, and 2 changes are included might as well use them.

added

Clear bra, entire front, full fenders & full hood, GM paint is stupid soft. I believe this to the single most important purchase for long term exterior protection on the truck.

Window tint

Elite oil catch can

Floor liners (GMC)

GM Borla exhaust, new Borla rounded square tips part # (20161)

Rear storage

Driver assist handle (looks more balanced)

Dual pro PS1 onboard battery charger (sits a lot needs some juice)

tropical candle, smells better & lasts longer than those wasteful card board air fresher's.
