My Tahoe seems to be upset with the driverside break and blinker light in the back. It has eaten through 2 of them this weekend. I haven't really checked into it yet but it seems like I have a short somewhere. Would anyone know where I should start. Also I noticed that there was some weird Greese stuff that looked like battery acid anbd Rust in the bulb plug. Is that just corrosion stopper?

Thanks in advance.

Brandon

That's kind of weird with the rust looking stuff in it. You could try cleaning it out with some of that electrical connector cleaner, usually comes with one of theos little tubes to get in tight places, and a small brush. Then put a little dielectric grease on the bulb to help prevent corrosion in the future.

Not sure what to tell you about the possible short.

You have some corrosion in the socket!!! I don't know why and I don't know what is causing the short...

But the best place to start is to clean the socket like Tom Said.... The bulb/socket should have a "grease" in there to prevent corrosion. It's the same grease that you put on your battery terminals when you clean them or install a new batery.
