Please help. Replaced idler/pitman arms on 2006 Z71, now steering is

Hi all,

First post. I appreciate your time/efforts in advance. 2006 Z71 Silverado 5.3l. 95k miles. Just had the idler/pitman arms replaced due to wear (inability to align properly). Took the 'play' or 'slop' out of the steering, but now the trucks steering is too tight and won't return to center after making a turn (no matter what speed). It's almost like you have to manually turn the steering wheel back to center after turning. I should mention I have a Rough Country leveling kit (front and rear) installed as well as 285 tires on factory 17" wheels. What's up with my steering issue? It's almost dangerous to drive.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Was your steering box tightened? There is a nut and Allen screw to put pressure on the steering gear which also reduces play. Try backing the Allen off a bit or call the shop and ask.
