replacing spark plugs

34k and it's time to change the spark plugs. I have never done this before and was wondering if you just screw the plugs all the way in or if you have space them. And if you have to space them, how do you measure the spacing? Thanks in advance!

If you are referring to the "gap" of the spark plug, you need to purchase a spark plug gapping tool (inexpensive). The proper grap is usually listed on a white label above the radiator. Simply make the gap correct and screw it into the engine head. DO NOT overtighten, snug is good. Be careful not to torque it sideways or you will crack the ceramic insulator on the plug. Make sure the plug wire is on all the way. When you remove the plug wire grab the boot not the wire. Good luck, Everyone has to start somewhere, dig in.

If you are talking about indexing the plugs, no, you don't have to "space" them. Get the gap right on the electrode and torque the plugs in (15 ft lbs I think).
