2011 Intermittent Electrical Problem

Recommended Posts

I have a 2011 Silverado 1500 4wd with 48K. It has began experiencing an intermittent electrical problem which causes the door locks to cycle, the dash lights to flash off then on, the cruise goes off, etc. I believe the engine dies but the problem is short lived and then operates normally. Sometimes is really jerks the truck when this happens and other times pretty mild.

I have changed the 175 amp mega fuse and cleaned the battery post and cable connections and the problem persists. No CEL.

Took to dealer and they pulled a code for vehicle speed sensor being faulty. They checked the voltage drop on the cables and checked the battery (they said).

The speed sensor is on order so not replaced yet. There is reportedly no bulletins on this problem.

Has anyone else had this problem and if so, what solved it? It don't sound like speed sensor to me, but is this a possibility?

Thanks

Have had to dealership and problem still not solved. I changed the 175 amp mega fuse. Dealer checked voltage drop on both battery cables, pulled ecm connections and used dielectric grease, and checked for codes. I have also cleaned battery connections. Any help appreciated. I really don't know what to do next, maybe another dealer. There reportedly is no service bulletins on this issue. The truck has 48M and an easy life. PS! The speed sensor was changed.
