What does everyone think about the Smittybilt Adventure Box?

I have been wanting a solution for caring various things I think a truck should always have and dont want to put a full size box in the back and I am still on the fence about a tonneau cover.

I like this box because it sits under the rails and has various size compartments, it also looks like it would be easy to take out and has tie downs to strap something to the top if needed.

I have yet to see it on a Silverado/Sierra. If you have one please post a pic or if you know of a better product do tell. Thanks.

Looks like access to the drawer in front would be limited even with an empty bed.

Why do you think this?

It looks like you would have to crawl in the bed to get to it. I could be wrong though.

I almost went with a chest style from UWS but stayed with the low profile Camlocker that I've had on my last 3 trucks. Love the look of these but you will have to bolt down and the biggest prob for me is when I haul wood etc. if those don't bother you then go for it. What is the cost?

I looked at some of these and was turned off by the price of some of them, Pretty pricey for what is basically just 4 panels of metal (sometime it still amazes me that we can stuff all that technology into a smart phone for $500 but a steel box will run you more). I am usually not a cheap person but in this case I was.

I went with two Plano brand PVC molded Sportsman trunks with clamp tight lids from walmart $16 per. They fit snugly behind rear of wheel well and tailgate & a strap to hold it to the loop there secures them in place. This is not a lockable option unfortunately but I have a canopy installed so getting to the back of the bed was impractical. This has worked out great and anything I want to throw loose in the truck bed I just toss in there. Nice cheap under $50 "mod" for someone in a similar situation or even just a cheap way to have 'something like a RAM box' on the side instead of at the cab. I even went full redneck and put a couple plastic empty kitty litter pails in each for 'compartments' they were square'ish and fit nicely.

You NEVER go full redneck!

I paid $50 for my toolbox at a garage sale. Bought new lock and keys for $5 at HD.

Do you really carry that much cargo in your bed to warrant a $500+ cover on it? Always curious why guys get these, I understand the keeping snow part out.

I need access to a telescoping ladder and don't...reason why I went with the box. More aggressive look too
