TailGate Handle

Hey folx. My tailgate sometimes sticks. WHen i pull the handle its a bit stiff and when i let go of the handle it doesnt always go all the way back in. DO i need to grease/lube it? If so, do i have to disassemble the handle or can i spray something in there?

I would shoot some lithium grease into the handle assembly, the actual latch points and even the pivot points for good measure. This may sound obvious but make sure there is nothing between the bed and tailgate joint as well where the tailgate actually latches or strikes. While your looking make sure your black triangular shaped stops are in place and haven't fallen off yet like so many have..
