New Wheels and Tires

Here's a pic of the old tires and wheels. I crackeda wheel and the company is no longer making them, so no replacements could be found ...

 

 

Here are the new wheels and tires. BFG All Terrains:285/75's on 16" wheels.

I never knew that picking out new wheels would be such a nightmare. So many choices... I thought I would never make up my mind. They handle fantastic offroad compared to the Michelins that I had before. I'm still playing with air pressure to find the setting that I like, they seem to ride a bit hard than what was on the truck before and what I got used too. I took them offroad rgiht from the shop and they were vibrating my truck pretty good as went down the dirt road so I Air'd them down to about 45 - 47psi and now they feel a lot better.

BTW What kind of wheels are they? I may be looking at a new set if I buy a 99 OBS Z71 from a family friend. So far I am considering the Weld Mountain Crushers but now I really like them.

It's a 97'.

 

They had to torque my torsion barsa bit and now the truck is riding rough, past my taste for it. So looks like the torsion bars go back to where they were and I'll have a 2" or 3" body lift installed. Just need something mild and something so the tires don't look like they aer being stuffed into the fenders.

 

The wheels are 16x8 MB Motoring "Rocker". Looks like they are the brand name that Discount Tire uses (where I bought them).

They were taken near the lake. I wanted a sunset picture but the sun was already down behind the mountains where I was. next time I'll go farther back and get the lake in the background.

 

Thx all! The more I look at the truck, the more I think it needs a body lift now.
