Need help getting a switch for my led pods to have power when my key is on. So if I forget to turn the pods off they won't have power when the key is off

You can use any switch and instead of connecting the + to the battery, hook it to a 12v switched on source. That way you can only turn it on and off when the truck is on.

It's not a special switch, just how you wire it up.

Yeah. I thought about wiring up the switch like a amp turn on set up for a amp but with a switch. I forget to turn it off sometimes and wanted to work when the key is on I can still turn off the lights during the day and then at night keep the switch on but have it loose power when i shut the truck off

What you are looking for is a relay.

You have your pod running directly to battery by the sounds of it, which is correct. So what you need is to put a relay inline and have the RAP power activate/deactivate the relay when RAP is on.

This video by ChrisFix for wiring his lightbar should be a similar approach and as he states always draw a wireing diagram first. He also has videos about doing LED/backup pods

I have a relay installed with my pods. I have my switch hooked up to the battery. I bought a fues tapper and was able to hook it up to my head light fuse so when at night my pods will stay on until my head lights go off after I shut off the truck.

Yes he has some good auto videos. I like him because he knows his detailing, everyone should watch his videos about washing and detailing especially if you think there is no wrong way to claybar (hint there is).
