2009 Rear Speaker Options

A few years ago I replaced my system. I've got the Advent OGM, JL Audio Stealthbox and 900/5 amp with Focal components up front and coaxial in the rear. It sounds pretty good but I miss the midrange. I heard parts of songs in my '07 Shelby that I just don't hear in this system. Granted, this is a truck vs. the coupe. The Kicker system in the Shelby had 8" subs in the doors as well as the box in the trunk.

Well, now one of the rear speakers is popping periodically so I pulled it out and checked the connections and tidied everything up but it's still there. I was kind of hoping there were some new options since I put this system in. I'd really like to figure out a way to get more mid range bass. I see some Kicker 6.5" and wonder if those would work. I'm guessing I can't run those off the same amp outputs though.

Suggestions?

Hey bud sounds like you hit the cap on your system. Just put your door speaker on a separate amp will a good crossover and it will sound awesome.

Do you mean get the 6.5" Kicker subs and run them separately?

I'm curious how much more mid-range those will give me vs the 10" I have now. I've got plenty of low end with the 10" so I don't want to add the 6.5's if they will just run the same range. I guess I could adjust the separate amp to not send low end.

I ordered two Rockford Fosgate 6.75" woofers and will try those in the back. I ordered the Punch crossovers that work with them and will change the high crossover for the front. We'll see if the rears as mid-range will actually fill the cabin or only the rear.
