Anyone have access to a 07-13 that could help me out

Trying to figure out if the bak flip G2 I have will fit my 17 without having to pull it out of storage and try it. All I would need is the measurements of the bed opening off the 07-13 to compare to my 17. If it's close enough I'll give it a try.

Isn't it all dependent on the bed side. 5.8ft and 6.5ft? Aside from that, it's the mounting hardware. Like if shims are necessary.

If it is the same size bed it will fit. I installed my bakflip from my 2013 on my 2016. I did have to slide it back a little to overlap the tailgate but other than that it is a pretty good fit. I had to add some shims on the sides to get a good fit but it works and does not leak. Saved $800!

I have the 5'8" bed on the 17 and had the same size bed on the 13. When you say "shims" what did you use. Hate to be a pain but if you have or could get any pics it would be much appreciated. It's been over 2 years since I pulled it off the 13. I take it you mean shims between the bed rail and the rail for the cover??

If the bed size is the same then you should be good. The 2014-17 have square railings. So installing hardware shouldn't be an issue.

 

I was just mentioning shims, since that would be the only real issue you would have to worry about.

If the 14-17 have squared rails what would I need the shims for?

 

I called Bak and they said it was a different top which is why I asked. I was hoping they just changed the model number on it in a way to sell new covers to people who already had them. I am sure there has to be something different but it might just be so minor not to make a difference.

Just stick it on there and see what you think. I did not like the way the cover went back in the rails. The cover was not centered going back into the rails. I installed the shims on both side and it fit in the rails properly.

Since it does not leak I am assuming the rubber overhangs all 4 sides good enough.

I'd opt for throwing it on and seeing if it's worth keeping or selling.
