Dash cam

I have been looking at dash cams for a week now. I can't decide.

What cam are you using?

Can you post videos to compare?

I'm thinking more along the lines of $150 but with the right convincing I could go up easily.

I have a $75 one in my truck and one in my car and it works great.

I have the BlackVue DR650S-2ch, I love the 2nd camera looking rearward. If you get one make sure you get a memory card that can handle the heat from these Dashcams. I have a $50 memory that locked up due to the high heat and can't use it at all. Now I have a 128gb card and works like a champ.

Go to YouTube for videos is my suggestion

What do y'all use these for? Kind of like my Glock? Just in the off chance...?

Cheap insurance. I had a guy cut me off then slam on his brakes to do an illegal uturn. Somehow I was able to stop in time. If I wasn't and didn't have the camera I am sure I would have been found in fault.

I tried that one and found it left big gaps between each video file and then it failed.

Never had that issue. I have ran it for about 3 yrs now

You don't have like a 5 second gap between video files?

Maybe notice a 1-2 second if that

Luckily for me nobody coming in the left lane, but would have had proof if I'd clipped him.

I have had a dash camera for several years now but am tired of the power wire down from the mirror to the 12v power socket. I opened up the fuse panel on my 2015 3500HD GMC in expectation of finding a power tap I could use. I was going to move the camera to the left of the windshield and run the power wire down the A pillar out of sight to the fuse compartment. I don't see any open taps where I can get 12v power even though there are several open fuse locations. Anyone know where I could connect the dash camera in that area?

You could use one of these.

No way, that would be too easy. LOL! Thank you so much, I have a inline fuse pigtail but I didn't know they made one that would plug into the fuse slot. I am ordering one now.

I just ordered this one to try out... I can't afford to pay $500 for a dash cam, I'm retired living on a small pension.
