2006 1500 ccsb add a leaf questions

I'm looking at installing a long add a leaf and have a couple questions. 1.) Does the long leaf interfere with the factory leaf spring clamps; do they need to be removed and 2.) Those that have installed one, did you have to use longer u bolts? Thanks.

I don't know if you're set on the long add-a leaf, but i highly recommend the helper spring from hellwig. The EZ 990 model does not interfere with any of the factory bolts. Both of them go on in under an hour and easily removable if you want.

second truck I have had them on. For just a bit of extra support, they are awesome.

If you are really looking for more heavy duty, this may not be for you.

I've thought of that idea as well but then I'd rather have air bags. I'm leaning towards an add a leaf to gain a couple inches in lift and occasional load support. I know the ride will be about stiffer but I have the vortecmax package and with the electronic shocks turned on it rides pretty stiff anyway.
