INTRO and question

Hello,

Name is Greg and look forward to the forum. I have just purchased rear corner step pads with LED's. I have searched and found no topic on this, but my question is what is the best way to remove the factory pads? Does the rear bumper have to come off or can this be done without removing it? Are there any forum links that would provide either a video or step-by-step on how to remove the rear corner steps? Thank you in advance.

Send them back and get your money back. I'm not being a smart ass. They are terrible. Many many many folks report partial light failure in no time along with many other issues.

Thanks for the honestly. Although I'm seeking the "how to" on the rear corner steps, that thought of just returning them has crossed my mind only because the product looks a little cheap.

Anyone have any other idea's to enhance the step? I don't want to just install a single light for backup or stopping, but rather have some to just add to the look of the step. This is why I bought the one's I have. It has the normal driving light along with the brake and is white when in reverse.

My brother and I installed a set on his truck and they were a big pain. We installed them while the bumper was still on his truck. There are some bolts that are very difficult to get to with the bumper on. My brother ended up just ripping the bolt hole on the stock ones and cut slits in the new ones to slide them in around one of the bolts we could not get out. I would say it would be best to remove the bumper. His have been on for a little over a year now and no issues.
