2011 Sierra Intermittent Ignition Problem

5.3L, 6 speed auto.

The ignition has started sticking in the start position and cranks without starting. Immediately turn switch off and back to start and it starts quickly as normal. Usually doesn't do it if the engine is cold and also in colder weather. Went thru the winter with rarely a problem but since weather is getting warmer, it's beginning to do it more often.

 

Put the OBDII on it and everything checks out with no codes, so I'm guessing the problem is more of a mechanical nature; possibly the electronic ignition switch with the ignition return spring.

 

Tried researching on line but couldn't find any similar problem with the sticking start position.

 

Any other thoughts?
