Truck dies while moving. Losing all electrics and the engine

Hey folks,

I have a truck that seems to have perpetual sensor issues. It's a 2011 sierra 1500 with a 5.3 4x4 crew cab.

In the fall of 2014 (6 months post warranty) I had an issue while driving through a snow storm. Somehow I ended up developing a short in the electrical system. They replaced a few components in and around the fuse box and ever since I've had sensor issues. First one to go was the oil pressure sensor. That was alarming when it packed it in. The DIC told me that the world was ending and to expect a mushroom cloud to be emanating from under my hood.

Next was the throttle positioning sensor, which, as it fails causes the engine and electrics to quit immediately, including power steering and brakes. Doesn't matter whether or not you're moving.. Sometimes the truck would restart itself as I was rolling and sometimes not. It never happened when I was going very quick. Mostly because I went immediately to the dealership and they fixed the issue.

I've had a number of other sensors go since. Sensors having to do with O2 and brakes and other wonderful things with repair bills ranging from $300 to $2500. Even the damn washer fluid sensor is screwy.

Today while coming home from out of town I hit a minor bump on the road and the check engine light came on. Wasn't that serious of a bump - you wouldn't have spilled your coffee. Didn't think too much of it... then about an hour later while slowing down to enter a small town, was decelerating through (approx) 60 kph when all went dead for a few seconds, started up, shut off and then on again as I was trying to pull over. I sat at the side of the road for a while. Truck still running, I decided to try to make it home, white knuckling all the way. I am paranoid that if it happens at highway speed that I will lose control of the truck before bringing it to a stop.

I've had it with the truck. Wondering if I should get rid of it or if there's something else I shouldn't be doing with it.

Thanks folks!
Trevor.
