granatelli MAS

:D I had ordered the MAS and installed it, only to have the service light come on. I returned the sensor and recived the second one two weeks later. Installed it and no problem, felt very strong and responsive. On the third day the service light come back on. I reset the light and thats when all went to crap. Bad performance, the truck ran bad and in the mornings would not start up. Enough is enough I took the dam thing out and the truck is fine. Trulely calibrated, I do not think so. To much money and the dam thing does not give you what is claimed. The thing that sucks is that now I am having a hard time returning it. I would have to say do not buy it. Keep the money or at least spend it on some thing that looks cool on your truck.

that sucks. Did you read the forum about granatelli getting sued by that other company because they didn't really calibrate their sensors and it was making them run lean? Look for it because they broke off from granetelli and says theirs does work. Also, I've read that unless you have cam changes and head changes that a bigger mas doesn't help.

Mine didn't make a difference far as I can tell. My SES light came on a few times and went out by itself. Did a download once and it was posting that my system was running rich. That would explain my oil analysis coming back saying that there was more fuel detected in my oil than normal. Not a good thing. I guess unless you have the other mods that can take the slack up on all that fuel your just wasting gas. If I had the money I would put headers and a bigger throttle body on but as most I'm not rich and bills take priority. :smash:

:smash: Hey big I wish I would have heard that sooner. Thanks anyway. On my status, I finally got trough the red tape but could only get store credit. I was offered the diablo sport programmer, what you guys think? Should I get the dam thing or what. I can not get my money back. Any suggestions, by the way I will not say his name but the guy told me that unless you reflash the computer all that one puts on the truck is a waste. He suggested to get the programmer and I would accomplash in one what a cold air kit, cat-back exhaust and the throttle body spacer do. I am just stuck as to do I go ahead or get something else. I already have flowmaster cat backs, and a K&N replacement filter. What you guys think, get back to me ASAP as I just want to get this over with. :D

I'd say if you want your money back, fight for it. What company is trying to screw you over so we can boycott them? If you have had this thing for less than 30 days and it isn't written in their return policy about no cash back, I would fight hell for it and threaten legal action. The predator seems to be better for performance (from what i've heard) than wot only hypertech, but i've never played with them. Some people say they don't work. If I were to do that, I would go with westers programming because everyone is happy with it and it works better than handhelds, plus he'll change it if you add mods in the future. That guy that told you would have to reflash is wrong, computers learn during driving. It helps to reset the battery for 1/2 hour. by him saying that, he should have also mentioned before you bought the maf or it should be in their instructions also. It should be on his webpage "Anything you buy from me is worthless unless you reflash" He is trying to keep your money and feed you a line of sh!t in more than 1 way.

Hey big,

I did get my money back. After all is said I decided to go with the predator programmer. I know it is probly not the best but I like the fact that you can use it as a dianostic tool, plus the 250 price I paid for it helped some. We will see if its all that it claims to be. I have spoken to a couple of members here and they say they like it. Like I said not to be compared with westers, but the best programmer out there right now. I'll keep you posted on the progress. Oh and yes, fight for whats yours. You were completly right, thanks.

 Hey mark d,

yeah your right, on the cameros there was a problem, but I was told that the company put out a program that you could down load to get rid of the problem. As to what the problem I do not know to well but I heard they were honest about the problem and went out of there way to fix it. If you have heard diffrent or other wise let us know.

Thanks :(

    • Can ask that about a lot of places.   Holiday sells 91 for $1 over 87 octane. BP 93 is 80 cents. Amoco 93 is 80 cents Kwik Trips is $1.20 for 92 or whatever they have and $1 for the 91.   I know that this is not exactly same as what you are saying with the premium to premium debate of those two stations but why is there such a difference. Top Tier this and that, it's all BS. All the fuel comes from the same damn refinery, so give me a break.
    • Why does Mobil Premium cost 90 cents a gallon more than Shell Premium when their regular offerings are but pennies apart?
    • Was all the way down to $3.69 a gallon but then jumped back to $3.99 just because for some reason.   Diesel floats between $4.80's to $5.10ish a gallon. I even saw Diesel #1 for $6.09 today but nobody in there right mind even buys that in the summer.
    • Mine just keeps lagging or getting stuck on the reverse camera. When I turn off the truck, get out, and close the door it will still stay on. It’s very intermittent and I would not be able to duplicate the issue.
    • I was checking out fuel prices at my farm fuel retailer at their pumps and yes the farm price is a bit lower than the non dyed fuel and was glad to see that the regular farm gas price has dropped a lot from what it had been but what blew me away was the price of diesel as the spread now compared to before the prices went up earlier in the year, diesel was actually slightly lower than gas which was a switch from the theme the last number of years. However that sure isn't the theme lately and definitely not right now. The prices I will post are not from that retailer but just looking at gasbuddy for the main city in this area and instead of posting the lowest price someone found I will list the higher price ( and that may not be the highest price, just whatever someone posted on gasbuddy ).   So regular gas and there are a lot of stations listing the same price for regular is 1.68 a liter, premium 2.00 a liter. Diesel 2.03 a liter for a top price I saw on diesel.   Figures out to 6.36 a us gallon Canadian funds for regular and 7.68 for diesel. With the US exchange rate it would be 4.58 us for regular and 5.53 for diesel.    Thought I would figure that out to get a picture of what it settles out like compared to various US prices and its about the same as the current price in Fairbanks AK as Anchorage tends to be lower. So yes, these would be the prices and higher along the way on the Alaska highway where they know they have a captured market !, for fuel prices for those beginning the long drive back to the lower 48   The problem is our Canadian dollar and going to the states that have the high prices, boy do we pay then !
