looking to buy 14 (6.2/6sp) or 15 (6.2/8sp)

I have a 2015 LTZ with the 6.2. I had the torque converter replaced 18k miles ago under warranty due to shudder issues. 54k now and the transmission performs flawlessly when towing and daily driving.

Drove a 2015 today not a denali, but a sierra with a 6.2/8speed. Truck drove great. I did a few stops. slow stops, trying to see if the 2-1 downshift gave me any issues. I tried some different driving and it all seemed well. I will say from about a 10 punch it just really doesn't feel like 420 hp. But back to the 8 speed everything felt fine. I did somewhat notice a 75-80 shimmy. (very faint) but didn't really feel it was an issue.

Looking at a 15 Denali about 4 hours away from me, hoping to pull the trigger on it with 30,000 miles!

I ended up going with a 15 Denali 6.2/8sp. Couple thousand miles so far and no issues. I have noticed the 2-1

Sometimes. But heck that happens on my 12 police ppv Tahoe with the 6 speed as well. So far no issues. I've only pulled my 4k boat. Hardly noticed it behind the truck.
