Backup camera

Hello, new to this so I hope I'm posting in the correct area.

I have a new Serria Elevation that didn't come with a backup camera (I have the IOB code for the radio system if that means anything). The dealer wanted 1200 to install one, guess that's plan x if I get to that point. Anyway besides the 5-6hundred dollar set up has anyone found a good way to get video to the dash screen for a backup camera? I have an idea, here goes.... can I install a EASYCAP into or something similar into one of the USB ports then run cable from a stock tailgate handle that has a built in camera? I know I'd have to change the source to USB but so what, may save me 400+ dollars I could use for another upgrade. Plus I could run 12v constant to watch tailgaters when I do a break check at 80MPH. Hope to hear some good news, thanks.
