What License Tag can i use on 2500

Hey guys.

 

Live in SC. When I purchased my new 17' GMC 2500 Denali HD I was told I would be able to transfer my regular SC tag onto it. I have been using this tag for the past 3 weeks, but just received a new tag in the mail. its a "Property Carrying" tag. I called my dealership and asked about this. They said because of the weight of the truck and the fact that it's considered a "work truck" for towing, I can't use regular tags. I use the truck as a normal vehicle and don't plan on towing or using as a work truck. Is there anyway to get around this? I work for MUSC "medical university of south Carolina". I was going to get a MUSC tag to run on my truck. Will this work or will I have to stick with the one they sent? Thanks. Are there other tags I can use? Thanks

Check with you DMV, some states restrict plates on certain vehicles and SC may be one of them. No way around the law.

Interesting how all the states do something different. Hard to keep up.
