Truck stalled everything blacked out.

Hello,

Wondering if anyone has heard of this. Just purchased used 1500 crew cab 50k miles. I was driving when I turned into a lot, low speed, the truck cut out and lost power to everything, as if it was completely disconnected from the battery. I received a traction control icon on the dash as well as an air bag notice then there was a click and shut down. I got out of the truck opened the hood and didn't notice anything wrong with the battery. then all of the sudden power came back on by noticing the cab lights on and it started back up as If nothing had happened. Didn't loose any presets making me believe its not a charging system issue.

I took it in to a dealer a few weeks ago and they said it was the battery, they charged me $300 but said they couldn't duplicate the problem but they were sure that was it. Well it happened again.

Wondering if this has happened to anyone else on here of if they heard about it?

Thanks in advance.

Sounds like the battery cables. Pretty sure this has been a big problem for a lot of folks.

Hey Guys just to give you an update took the car to the dealership turned out it was the a bad ground which was causing the resistance. They looked up to see if there was a recall for gmc and there isn't. Going to talk to GMC since I have a case open and see if they can ask least pay half of it. Will keep you guys posted. Total cost to repair this is $430.00

Did you move any wires befor the power came back on? Doesn't sound like a battery issue.

Don't forget about the fuse block on top of the battery. That thing has a supply voltage to almost everything interior and it can cause the engine to stall if one of the mega fuses is loose at one of the attaching rivets. I use a test light go from negative post to each end of the mega fuses and move them around as I'm checking them to look for dropouts on the test light.
