So wife and me went on a 500 mile trip. 1000 mile round trip. Tranny shutter and all going so was in manual mad going and better than drive mode. Spent a few days in Branson Mo. Leaving hotel Sunday morning truck took longer to start and said that's funny. Drove around to hotel lobby turned truck off to go in to check out and eat breakfast. Went out 20 minutes later and it started just fine. Drove 50 miles on interstate and pulled off into springfield mo. I store for under 5 minutes went back to truck and dead!!!! Got on star jump in 20 minutes. Went to a local o reillys they sucked and had to jump it again. So drove to a pep boys 1.5 miles away with no dash display at all.radio worked but it was all in metric. Spent 1.5 hours in the rain at pep boys running diagnostic.bad battery. Put a new one in and everything came back perfect. Drove 6 hours 400 miles and my tranny is shifting perfect and no shutter at all!!! It's a different truck. So does the battery have that much to do with the tranny? I can't see it but it is good now. I got more to say but tired of typing.

With the battery going dead it probably just reset your driving habits (it adapts to your driving habits, to a certain extent) when it got disconnected

Same thing happened to my wife and I on the first day after buying a certified truck. You would think a certified vehicle just had a systems check as part of this "special" certification! But no. We pulled into a rest stop as the truck was going nuts. Then it was dead. I knew from my newer corvette these new vehicles have so many computers and sensors that they go crazy with very weird symptoms having a weak battery. Got a ride to Walmart, got a fresh battery and never an issue after that. So much fun with limited tools changing a battery at a rest stop!!

Agreed computer everything on these new vehicles. And getting a battery out is a pain it's not easy anymore. Remove several things to get it out. Ugggh

Well I'm sure it reset but I hope it learns my habits now and no more tranny issues. I hope I don't jinx myself. But I'm sure I will. And I'm in a fight about the battery cause it's still under gm warranty..

You are just in the honeymoon period after a reset with the battery being disconnected. I've tried that a few times and this damn 8 speed. It is smooth and silky for about 100 miles and then back to jerky and clunky. It drives me nuts!

Ok well I got a call into the dealer before this and I'll keep the things in motion.

Thanks for ruining my fantasy!!!! I just traded my 2015 8 speed and bought a 2017 Denali. I have a whopping 132 miles on it and have been so impressed that my tranny complaints are over!!! Smooth, no clunking or banging or flaring. I was so happy till I read your reply. Arrrrg.

The 10 speed comes in the Denali next year figure that will take 2-3 years to sort out. So I figured maybe the 2017 last year it will be sorted?? Guess not.
