Duals on a Six

Are there any 4.3L owners who've dualed it out, or modded the exhaust system? What are the best applications, and what kind of sound can I expect? I'd like something kinda beefy, but I don't wanna sound like a monster truck. Any opinions on V6 exhaust systems? Any help is appriciated. Thanks in advance

I have duals on my 92 S-10 with the 4.3L V6. No cats. 40 Series Flowmaster with 2 1/4" pipe out behind the rear wheels. I get allot of people asking me if I have a V8 under the hood. The sound is a good low deep tone.

I have to have a cat due to local laws, but should sound ok I figure. How much should I expect to spend? A shop down the street quoted me something like $320...a bit insane I thought.

My stepdad has duals on a 4.3 fullsize stepside.

It sounds pretty good, especially at lower RPM's. I think he said they were Flowmasters.

They used an aluminized exhaust, so he has to get it completely replaced every 3-5 years.

I have no idea what he spent.

As long as you dont go straight pipes.. i have 2 friends with straight pipes on their V-6 and it sounds like CRAP

I have duals on my S-10 ZR2 and the FM40 gives you the best sound.

Another thing. Its time for new air filter while I'm at it. I was thinking K&N and a cool lookin' airbreather cover and assembly. I was thinking of Chrome. Opinions??
