Tailgate cap search

My 2011 Silverado had a great tailgate cap from the factory. I liked the looks and functionality of it. I need to find a similar style for my 2015 before I get more paint damage.

I can't believe GM made it impossible to close the tailgate without touching a painted surface. I haul stuff everyday, some of it dirty, muddy.. covered in concrete, etc.

Even though I use the truck for my Carpentry business I don't want scratches and missing paint.. Heck even my wedding ring seems to take the paint right off. Anyone know of a nice looking black cap? All the searches bring up 2013 and older.

In the pic you can see the painted part sticks out faster then the stock plastic cap.

Not a bad idea. Maybe even black vinyl. Can't believe I didn't think of that.
