Iphone lost connection with radio?

For the most part the radio bluetooth connection has worked well with my iphone SE, placing calls, playing music from my phone, etc. However, every once in a while I'd lose the connection when the truck was shut off. When restarted after a short period, say 15-20 min., It couldn't connect to play music. This was always solved by shutting off the truck again and then restarting it. When that was done, everything would work fine.

 

However, in the last couple days, the bluetooth isn't working at all, and it won't play music even via USB connection. Via USB, the radio can see the phone & what song is queued up, but it won't play. Does something need to be reset? Or is there something else going on here?

Restarting the truck doesn't help.

It seems the latest Iphone software update isn't working well with GM vehicles.  we've had a lot of issues the last few weeks that are not present when I hook my Android phone up to the customer's vehicles.
