2017 GMC SIERRA PROJECTION APP

Got a 2017 GMC SIERRA 3 months ago, and still unable to use the projection icon in the dash display.  Nor does the charging mat seem to work.  So either my Iphone 4S which is synced up correctly is (i) either too old to be compatible ?  (ii) or wrong USB port being connected  (since there is2 in the dash and 2 in the console not sure which one should be using) ?

 

One sales guy said use the one in the consoled.  Second sales guy said iphone4S is too old and not compatible.  Can't get a straight answer - so much for customer service.  Any ideas ?

Any of the USB ports should work for Car. Play/Android Auto.

I would bet your IPhone 4 does not have the wireless charging feature necessary for it to charge on the mat.

iPhone 5 is the minimum iPhone model that supports CarPlay. The 4s doesn’t support it.

Only iPhones 8 and X support out of the box wireless charging. AND wireless charging of iOS devices is not supported on 2017 models. Support is available only on 2018+ model GM vehicles
