What does the HMI control on a 2016 chevy Silverado 1500 with a 5.3 L V8.Johnny01:

HMI - Human Machine Interface. It is the brain to your infotainment system, radio, navigation, etc.

Without it, your truck won’t start. There is a way to bypass if needed (like if sending it in for programming).

Anything that you see on your radio display is coming from the HMI.

Thanks Phil, one other question. On the 110 plug does the two wire plugs plug in only one way.? Or does the black one plug in to the left or right if you are looking at the console from the front.? Thanks again for everything and all you've help me with. I'm 66 years old and not very good when it comes to electronics.Johnny01:

Yes sir. GM “keys” these so they only go way and specific to each port
