Park Assist Technical Question - 2008 2500HD GMC

I have a 2008 GMC 2500HD Duramax. When i start the truck, it says park assist off even though i did not turn it off. The park assist disable button is also always lit up, and will not let me turn it back on. I have put it in reverse and the sensors do not buzz. I also connected a TECH 2 and i cannot even communicate with the park assist module. The LED on the rear pillar are not lighting up either when trying to test with the scan tool , also due to not being able to communicate with the module.

 

Have any opinions on what to try next?
