Replacement NAV Radio reprogramming. How long does it take?

I got a NAV radio from a buddy out of his early 2012 that I am going to put in my 2008. It's a pre-HDD radio so the radio and my truck have all the appropriate plugs. I called one dealer that said they wanted $85 to attempt and said they would need it for a few hours.

From what I've read it should take only about 20 minutes. He didn't clarify if they needed it for a few hours because that's how long it takes or because they would have to fit it in between other appointments. For anybody that has had this done at the dealer, how long should the process take?

Also, does anybody know anywhere that does this service?

You need to understand getting repairs done is not like eating a meal.  The mechanic is not going to be waiting with the bay open in anticipation of your arrival.  They cannot predict at what time he will be able to start the job.  That's all they are saying.

I understand that they have other jobs, etc. He just wasn't clear if the actual job took a few hours or if they will fit it in between jobs.

He just said "I'll need the truck for a few hours." I'm still calling other dealers to get pricing too but also wanted to know if there are any online companies that can do the service.
