Hey guys I need a little help identifying a noise on my truck. I suspect it is in my driveline or rear end. It almost sounds like a grinding noise or traction control being activated, however when I manually turn off traction control it still happens but less frequently. Here is a video of the sound. You can hear it briefly at the 7 second mark and a longer one at about 12 seconds.

I had it at the dealer for over a week and they could not figure it out. The tech took it home over the weekend and still could not hear it. I took the Shop supervisor out and was able to replicate it. He thought it was a heat shield rubbing the exhaust. He thought that because he could hear it just as good outside the cab (with the door open) as inside the cab. He also had me power brake the truck to see if it happen then and it did not.

So about the sound, I hear it when I am turning, especially to the right and when I am mildly accelerating. I hear it more when I’m pulling a trailer and almost all the time when I am pulling a trailer up a hill. I live in Southern Louisiana so not to many hills here but on a recent vacation to Arkansas it happened all the time. So much so that I took the truck directly to the Dealer same day we got home.

My truck is a 2014 4x4 High Country Silverado 1500 with the 6.2 liter engine.
