Anyone know of how to use the gm-card 5% rebate on something other than a new vehicle

I'm not positive, but I think it only applies towards the purchase of new vehicles. I've saved several thousand dollars on the purchase of GM vehicles by using my card. The best thing about it is that I pay my bill in full every month, so GM has never made a penny on my purchases with my card... I guess they lost out on me!!!! (They loan me free money for a month and then give me credits towards my new vehicle.... it doesn't get much better than that!!! )

I do the same thing as Shane. Use the card for all my monthly stuff and write 1 check the first of each month.

My mom has one. They will not let you use it unless it is on a new vehicle. She tried when she bought her last car but it was used and they wouldn't let her. Then she was going to get my Blazer for me, then put it in my name after she got it with the rebate; but it was used so she couldn't do it.

I believe that you can use the rebates on Dish Network and a couple of other partner programs. You would probably have to call the customer service number or go to the website.

I have saved a bunch on vehicles with the card too. I also pay my bill at the end of each month. Has anyone switched to the new GM card or is everyone using the old version? I am using the old version. The new one limits the amount you can put on each vehicle, but unlimited earnings. The old one limits you to $500 earnings each year, but if you wait for a max of 7 years, that's $3500.

The answer is "YES"!!! All rebates, special financing and your GM card "credits" apply to GMS Pricing.

I'm using the old plan. The new one sounded good until I read all of the restrictions. I pay my bill in full every month so they don't make anything off of me either.

These Earnings are in addition to most other incentives GM may offer, excluding GM Employee Purchase Programs, GMO, GMS, PEP, GM Dealership Employee Purchase Programs and GM Supplier Purchase Programs ...This is a quote from GM card website.

The new card was best for my particular situation. There is a lot of 'catchy' wording comes with it so beware. It doesn't go with some other discounts as stated above.
