Popping sound when switching from 2wd to auto/awd

I've noticed an issue with my truck ( 2017 Silverado 1500 z71) after getting a lift kit installed. When I switch over from 2wd over to auto/awd I hear a popping sound. I know when you switch over to 4low it does it naturally and owners manual says to be moving at about 2mph to help with that, but this isn't the case.

 

I got under the truck and had someone switch back and forth from 2wd to auto and I noticed a popping sound coming from the driver side cv axel. When I leave it on auto and attempt to drive, it seems like there is some resistance/ hear sort of a humming sound coming from the vehicle. I'll switch back to 2wd and there will be no issue. 

 

Could the cv axel of come loose popped out of the front diff and placed back in incorrectly?
