no brake lights

I have a 99 Chevy Silverado extd. Cab short bed and I have no brake lights at all. Checked all the fuses and none were blown and I replaced the brake switch to no avail. Any ideas?

Looks like bad wiring or there's a short somewhere

Maybe but the weird part is I have after market LEDs everywhere and solid led taillights and they worked before I made a 10 or 15 mile drive to the shop I use in mesa, az. And they've worked since I bought them about a year or more ago. The plastic brackets broke holding them to my bed so I disconnected them and drove there now just the brake light wont work on any of them. They are having a harness built for me for the best but I still have the third light out above the bed.

Sounds like a bad turn signal switch.  The brake lights run through it, but not the 3rd brake light.

In my old truck I had to change the board on the lights like every 6 months they kept going bad but good thing I had warranty on them cuz I got them free Everytime

I had the same problem in my 2000 Silverado. It ended up being the fuse located in the fuse block in the engine compartment. The fuse was good but it had a bad connection. I cleaned it up and has been working fine.

I think you have a junction box above your spare tire.  this is where left and right lights split for the back

Only issue is it doesn't control the third brake light. Just the 2 on the bed I dont even have my third brake light lighting up either.

op never mentioned third brake light in his original post

So no brake lights means I still have one working?
