HVAC blower

I have heat/ac blowing only through through the dash vents no matter which option i select- no defroster is the biggest concern here in N.E.

What to do to correct this?

Seems to work for a lot of things, disconnect the battery for a half hour, then hook it back up and see what happens. If it is the original battery, might need to replace.
