Backup lights

Does anyone have aftermarket backup lights installed on there hitch? Kinda like the fog lamps you would put on a grille guard or something, but attached underneath in the back, with the auxilary lamp switch in the cab. Ideal for backing up to a trailer at night or whatever.

If so, do you have any pics, and where did you get the lights from?

I had some facing backwards on my Roll bar. THen I moved them onto my Headache rack after I got rid of the rollbar. Here are some pics:

They are just powered off a switch I put in the cab.

I got the white night setup, finally got it hooked up a while back, really bright and looks factory, or at least somewhat factory. I got the fixed mount model and had to do some modifying to get it to fit right. I just went on a 1500 mile trip pulling a 1000lb trailer, half the time unloaded, now the lights dont work anymore, maybe the bulbs got a lot of vibration or the relay went, gotta check it out and then maybe i can post a pic. Any ideas?

I have a set of PIAA's that I use for backup lights. Work incredibly well.

Thanks for the replies guys. I like that White Nite setup. I was thinking of doing what MCourson did and mounting 2 lights directly to the hitch and wiring it all up myself.

Lots to think about.

03Bluerado, regarding the lite's being out now, maybe the wiring connection is bad, or the relay went like you said. Could be a couple of things. I am not too good with that stuff though.

I've got a set of KC backups that a shop nearby put on. They are mounted using brackets which are held on by the bumper bolts I believe. They're spaced a bit wider than MCourson's. They do a great job when you're backing at night. I actually got the 4 pod housing for the airbag shutoff area, then found an aux lamps switch. I have 1 switch for those rears and another for 2 front lights on the grille guard.

I put the White Night set up on and also had to modify to fit. Mine are hooked to a switch in the cab and a relay with the backup lights, come on either with the back up lights or if the switch is turned on. If you live in the snow belt as I do DONT BUY THESE LIGHTS! They are not sealed from the back and they do fill up with snow and s**t. I am changing mine to PIAA's as soon as I can.
