Tranny swap to 700R4, HELP!

Hey all, new to forum, but I need a little help/info. Have a 1990 C3500 dually w/454 and probably a 400TH w/no overdrive. Unfortunately at freeway speed the engine is screamin' like a raped ape. I want to put in a 700R4, what can any of you tell me with regards to how easy/hard, costs involved, practicality and dependability.

I wouldn't recommend a 700r4 behind a 454 in a truck and probably not in a car either.

The 4l80e is what you want but you will have to save a lot of gas to make up the cost of putting one in your truck.
