Steering gear box issues

New to this site so here goes. I have a 1997 silverado k2500, it is a plow truck so it's going through hell daily. I'm having an issue with the after market reman steering gear box that was installed 15 months ago. along with gear box all 4 ball joints. p/s pump installed 12 months ago, idler&bracket pitman tierods 6 months ago. The front end is completely new. started having issues turning at low speed but fine with engine rpm. Truck was equipped with EVO which I bypassed with GM kit 19168825, still having issues. I can see slop in the output shaft of the gear box now (of course it's out of warranty). I don't want to mess with this every year, basically looking for recommendations on new or reman gear boxes that aren't junk i'f they exist. Trying to avoid the dealership at $500. Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

I've heard red top and blue top boxes are the bomb. I've only had personal experience with Oreilly boxes a d they are like what you have.
