Looking at 2500HD

Hey All,

 

Been a while since I've been around here. I traded my gasser 2010 2500HD in on a '16 Colorado DMax a few years ago. Love this little truck,  but, thinking of going back to the 2500HD because I am looking at getting a bigger travel trailer than what the mini-max can handle. Probably gonna go used and looking between 2012-2016 as my range for a diesel 2500. Is there a specific year that I should try to concentrate on or stay away from? And how many miles is too many miles on a used truck that is still gonna cost around $45-50k?,

Well I hope they are less than 45k. All years your looking at are great. IMHO the 15 and later body style is MUCH more comfortable but thats me.

X2 on the 2015-19. I love mine. Very comfy for an HD and the 6.0 gasser does great with our 34ft. travel trailer.

The engine changed from LML used 2011 thru 2016 to the L5P for 2017 and up.

 

Frame / chassis  was significantly changed in 2011, and hasn't changed since - even though body changed. 

 

 

New everything for 2020, except maybe engine.

(if it's not still the L5P, the new one has the same specs)
