Creaky/Popping Dash Around Nav Screen

I seem to have a very loud plastic popping/creaking noise around my navigation screen, as well as around the radio controls.  This is especially apparent when the truck is cold and warming up in the mornings.  

 

I know what many of you are going to say "This is normal..."  And I have had something similar on previous GM trucks, but this is quite more apparent and happens far to often to ignore.  5-10 times this area makes creaking noises on a 10 minute drive to work.  It gets very annoying, and is loud enough to hear over the radio.

 

I am just trying to figure out if anybody has figured out how to minimize it.  I have taken off the silver trim around the nav screen and put on some felt tape around the metal clips, but it seems to be coming from the black surround which requires some serious work to remove.  It actually requires the cupholders to be removed to get to the screws that hold this large plastic piece in place.  

 

Any help is always appreciated.
