WTF Truck brakes???

I have a 18 1500 w/ 2k miles on it.    I was in slow stop and go traffic and the truck started to pull away.  I thought the engine was surging, but I think the brakes went away.  I pump on pedal, and truck stopped.  Is this a thing???

If the pedal feels soft and mushy possible fluid leak.

 

If the pedal is hard to press possible vacuum pump failure. Several threads on here about this.

 

 

This thread has the TSB in it make sure the tech at the stealership checks for oil.
