Bluetooth issue

I have a 2014 gmc sierra slt and when i connect my iphone 7 through Bluetooth, a phone call comes in it doesn’t ring through the trucks speakers. The phone itself rings is this normal or is there something wrong? I assume it should ring through the speakers any help would be appreciated ? btw this is my first gmc truck owned for only 3 weeks now have tried bluetooth volume pairing unpairing clearing cache etc frustrated my cheap pioneer in my yj rings through my speakers why cant this truck
